Interglacial  Interglaciaire
A geological interval of warmer global average temperature that separates periods of glaciation. During an interglacial, ice-sheets retreat to approximately present-day level. For example, at the end of the Pleistocene, the Sangamon Interglacial is intercalated in between the Illinoian and Wisconsinan glaciations.
