Pangea  Pangée
A supercontinent that coalesced in the latest Paleozoic era and comprised all present continents. The breakup of Pangaea began in Mesozoic time (~ 200 million years ago), and initiated the formation of the Atlantic Ocean (adapted from: Grotzinger et al., 2007).
