Planetesimal  Planétésimal
Any of numerous kilometre-sized solid celestial bodies that aggregated through the clumping by gravitational attraction of interstellar dust and particles at an early stage of development of the solar system. Ultimately, continued aggregation led to the formation of the planets (adapted from: Grotzinger et al., 2007).
