Mid-Ocean Ridge  Dorsale médio-océanique
A continuous and linear mountainous ridge on the floor of all major ocean basins that vary in width from 500-5000 km. The flatter and slightly depressed area running along the crest of these ridges marks a divergent plate boundary along which new oceanic lithosphere is generated.
