Metamorphic Grade  Degré de métamorphisme
The intensity of metamorphism measured by the degree of difference between the parent rock and the resulting metamorphic rock. For example, the low-grade metamorphism of a shale produces a slate, while high-grade metamorphism of the same parent rock will generate a gneiss (adapted from: Neuendorf et al., 2005).
