Lithosphere  Lithosphère
One of the rheological subdivisions of the Earth. The rigid outer shell of the Earth that includes the crust and the upper mantle, and move over the asthenosphere. Lithosphere thickness varies (continental lithosphere is thicker than oceanic lithosphere) but averages about 100 km.
